A Gift That Will Really Give Back

No, schools in Cambodia aren’t that cheap, but you can put one up for about $26,000 total and a donor has already contributed half. So that leaves $13K to be raised through a whole group of us travel bloggers through Passports With Purpose. The travel agency consortium Virtuoso has already kicked in a sizable chunk to be the sponsor, so it won’t be that hard to make it happen. See more details here at the Passports with Purpose site.
We’re not just asking you to be completely altruistic either. A bunch of other great sponsors have donated their own prizes that will go to contributors and you can even specify your top choice of loot. Last year I scored some NFL football tickets as a result of my donation. Sweet!
My own sponsor is the company that keeps me looking good in the sunshine: Tifosi Optics. They have donated a choice of sunglasses and if you want to see what I think of their stuff, see reviews on Practical Travel Gear of the photochromatic Torrent and polarized Salvo. But if you don’t want shades there’s plenty more to pick from.
It all starts today and runs through December 21. All 100% of the proceeds go to American Assistance for Cambodia.

These look sleek! I actually haven’t heard of this brand (I live under a rock).

I should note for the record that the ones being given away take it up a notch: they are photochromatic (get lighter or darker depending on conditions) and polarized too for reducing glare on the water or on snow.
