Get the (Sifted) Dirt on Thailand

February 23rd, 2009 Posted in Cheap Asia Travel, Destination reports, Travel industry

Thailand’s Tourism authority has launched a news clearinghouse on their site that’s more useful than what you get from most tourism bureaus. Their Thailand Tourism Update section has travel articles from the press, a news feed, and a feed displaying blog entries about the country. If you want to submit your own blog posts, you can do that at this link.

This means of course they are sifting through and deciding what to publish or not. There’s no straight pass-through of posts about being robbed at a full moon party, feral dogs roaming the streets, strip bar scams, or the smog in Bangkok, so for that you’ll have to check out Travelfish or the Thorn Tree forum. But still, it’s worth bookmarking or adding to your RSS reader if you’re heading to Thailand anytime soon.
