Hi Tim,

I expect that there are going to be bargains galore for the very near future as many people will be watching there money. Here in Asia I am already seeing cheap rates for budget accommodations.

I was talking to a few vendors in the last week and they all expect that there will be less people traveling this year, bad news for the economy is good news for budget traveler's as everyone will be competing for less, so I expect to find cheaper hotel rates in all classes especially luxury. On the cheapest airlines there will be very little movement in the prices as the airlines are parking planes to drive up demand, but I expect that there will be many people getting upgrades on the international flights to free up the seats in the back, as the number of business travelers will be way down.

Dear Tim,
My name is Julia and I'm a reporter in one of the most important brazilian travel magazine, called Viagem e Turismo (www.viajeaqui.com.br). I've never commented here before, although I always take some time to read it, 'cause I always find interesting things to my articles. What was my surprise when I read your last post about the prices changings, because I'm doing something about this same subject. So I was wondering if you could help me in an article with some tips about the "new" real budget destinations to go now - with your credits given, of course. If you would like (and can) participate in it, may you send me an e-mail? I'd be vey flattered with your participation.
I'm sorry to leave this message here, but I didn't find any e-mail adress.
Best regards,
Julia
