Traveler’s Tool Kit: Mexico and Central America – Out Now!
April 15th, 2008 Posted in Cheap Latin America Travel, Leffel projects, Travel booksLast year I poured a sizable chunk of my time into a travel planning guide co-written with Rob Sangster. The result is now a chunky book on the shelves, Traveler’s Tool Kit: Mexico and Central America.
This is not a guidebook you would carry along with you (unless your toddler needs a booster seat), rather it’s a book with pretty much everything you need to know to plan a successful trip to Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, or Panama.
Or just to figure out which of those places you want to go and what to do when you’re there. You may not need it yourself if you’re an experienced traveler who has been to that region, but buy it as a gift for someone else who’s not so worldly wise. Support your local store or if there travel section is lame (quite likely) go online:

My first thought was … gee, this is a big book … couldn’t you and Rob add another 500 pages and make this really hard to lift?
Sarcasm aside, Traveler’s Tool Kit is an excellent read and I hope you nominate it for the Planeta.com Book of the Year! What do I like best? The time-tested suggestions that walk rookie travelers through the labyrinth. You both know your stuff and you articulate the options well.
