I've found from my 2 trips to France that even the wine in shops that costs a couple of Euro is still quite good. Vin de Pays or Vin de Table (Country wine and Table wine respectively) are generally what the French drink on a daily basis. Even they can't afford those Bordeaux wines for every day drinking. That said, wherever I go, I drink the local stuff. In Mexico that's Tequila, in Europe wines. Sounds like a blast Mike.

And since I can't tell a merlot from a mermaid, I was happy with the outcome (drunk). Though my friends said the wine was very good. Portugal is one of my favorite places - Lisbon is wonderful!
