Family Travel in Guatemala

Guatemala toucanI wrote a piece for GoNomad on my family trip to Guatemala this past June and you can find it here: Pyramids to Panajachel: A Family Vacation in Guatemala.

As I noted in the article, Guatemala is probably not the first destination that comes to mind for a family break. We got a few quizzical looks and raised eyebrows from a few friends with kids when we mentioned that’s where we were heading. Of course it was fine though: the daughter didn’t even get a slight case of the runs and we all had a good time.

GoNomad always has a variety of good material and it is geared to the independent, adventurous travelers that aren’t on a Ritz budget. There’s also a piece on a family trip to China, a side trip from Mysore (one of my favorite places in India), a story on Colombia, and “A Beginner’s Guide to Camel Trekking.” Go to Gonomad’s home page.
