Turnkey Business for Sale in Mérida, Mexico

Merida restaurant sale

If you are looking for a chance to move abroad and hit the ground running, here is your chance. Following is the scoop on a little café for sale in the colonial historic area of Mérida, Mexico, the city of a million near where I have a little Yucatan beach house. This is a great city with lots of character and a fair number of expats. The one main drawback is it’s very hot in May and June, so this is not the place if you are looking for one of those eternal spring climates. It’s Mexico hot (but 30 minutes from a Gulf beach and under four hours from the Caribbean.)

Belina Garcia is selling her restaurant there because of some health issues that require a return to the U.S., so I am posting her info here for anyone who is interested. Everything is included for $30,000USD, with room for flexible arrangements to make it work. Here is her description and a link to photos.

“This is a really nice place and really does offer a great potential, which is why I went ahead and rebuilt it because I was going to have a little business for extra money, plus we love to travel and this would give us our traveling budget. I rebuilt a space on the Remate de Montejo for a Cafe/Gallery and come to find my husband’s health is compromised and insurance won’t cover here so we have to go to the US to get care so I am selling.

I’ve got to get us back as soon as I can and I need help. I need people who want to relocate but still need to work (like me!) My Cafe is equipped and ready to be working, it even has a phone with WiFi and the stationary tank is full!

Pictures of the restaurant.

Anyone taking over the business would also be able to take over their house lease, which looks like a great place to live for a reasonable price.

“As to the house we rent in Santiago (C53 #581 x76 y 78) I am including pictures so you can see it’s a nice house. Two stories, 3br and 2.5baths (2 with bidets) and master bath has waterfall faucet), large kitchen, windows on all sides (house not built Yucatecan style sharing common walls with neighbors) you can walk around the whole house and have much ventilation all around. Back patio leads to laundry room and clotheslines, front patio has carport covered with Copas de Oro and Ficus trees, Buganvilias and palms and
is a shady lovely spot. I put a phone line in (with WiFi) and there is SKY satelite tv service too. This is rented furnished for $6800 pesos a month (around $600 USD) and you can easily walk to Paseo Montejom Santa Ana and the restaurant.. Parque Santiago is only 5 min away too. I also put in a large aboveground pool (12ft in diameter with filter) under the carport to keep the water from boiling. It’s a cool, comfortable house and we have not used the AC at all because it gets great cross ventilation, especially upstairs. Room fans in all rooms and AC in 2 bedrooms. This is a large, comfortable house. Here are pictures of the Merida house.

Hi, We are relocating and are very interested in this situation, would want the restaurant and to rent the house. Relocating very soon and are willing to fly down aasp to see property. Is this a bar also. Do you have a liquor license or is one required in Mexico? Do you own the building and is that included? in the price. We will not be needing financing so this will be a quick sale for you. Please call Susan @ 404-909-5659. If you are not able to call you have my e-mail address. Thanks Susan

Please contact the owner at the e-mail address above. I was just listing it for her as a favor–I’m not an agent.
