It's a fantastic book and came in handy during my travels in South America. It's a bit heavy though, that was the only problem.

It's a tough call, I guess. I know you have spoken highly of the Moon books, and I have found them to be the best personally....the Footprint South America book is LOUSY - I bought the 2007 edition prior to my 7-week vagabonding trip in Jan-March (2007) - and many of the BsAs restaurants listed in the book were out of business when I attempted to go there. Of course the drawback with LP books is the sheer number of LP readers - I wish the other books would mention when their recommended listings coincide with the LP recommendations - so that I know to avoid those particular listings, however good they might be.

I so agree with you, as a traveler in India i found it a bit amusing how travelers- no offense, but mostly Europeans couldn't take their eyes off the book. They were missing out on so many good restaurants and nice guesthouses..
