May Issue of Perceptive Travel is Up
May 3rd, 2007 Posted in Leffel projects, Perceptive Travel, Travel adventures
We’ve posted the new issue of Perceptive Travel and as usual, present you with an oddball assortment of interesting travel stories that don’t fit the usual mold.
Two previous writers return: David Farley is learning Italian while searching for a Holy Foreskin, and Michael Buckley gets a nice English Breakfast while hiking in Bhutan, thanks to 700 kilos of gear for two trekkers.
Steve Davey, who contributes to the Perceptive Travel Blog, makes his debut climbing up a cliff rope to a monastery in Ethiopia. Ian Middleton brings us druids in a circle in Ireland, Jennifer Eaton Gokmen gets up close to animal sacrifice in Turkey, and Amy Rosen shows us how to build an igloo in the Canadian Arctic. Right this way for the travel stories.
Susan Griffith returns with reviews of three interesting books and as usual we highlight some notable world music releases. No regular contest this month, but newsletter subscribers have a shot at an electronic 12-language translator and a bunch of CDs. (Sign up on the home page.)
