Don’t Pay List Price!
April 18th, 2007 Posted in General, Travel bargains, Travel gearIf you’ve got your eye on a new travel gear item or are about to say, rent a car, take a few minutes first to look for deals and coupons that are out there.
It is very easy to comparison shop for that digital camera or backpack through a site like BizRate.com or Shopping.com. Then if you use a coupon and deals site such as FatWallet or CouponChief, you can find free shipping deals or unbelievable discounts like “save $20 on a $60 order.” Or a discount plus free shipping on top. Admittedly, these deals are more prevalent in the U.S. than in many other places where shipping is not so centralized, but try a search like “online coupon England” if you’re somewhere else.
Here are just a few links to coupon codes from CouponChief as examples:
20% off all eBags branded products (like my laptop daypack)
Up to $100 off on a Southwest airlines flight to Phoenix - Southwest coupons
Free Shipping on any order of $24 or more at Circuit City
And on and on. Don’t forget too that many of these online retailers are connected to the mileage mall of where you have your frequent flyer program. So if you really want to work the system, log onto the mileage mall with your membership number and buy through there. You can usually still use the coupon by entering a code, but you’ll get miles on top of it. And if you use an airline-affiliated credit card, or an Amex hooked into the Membership Miles program, you’ll also earn even more miles or points that way. All without paying a cent more than if you had just punched the online retailer’s address into your browser. Get the most out of your purchases!

I travel with my husband all over the east coast and use http://www.myhotelandtravelreservations.com to get great discount rates. It provides us with a wide array of choices and cities, even shore towns… Check it out.
