I think Belize is a wonderful place to live, visit, retire or do business. It is easy to find and easy to get to and one of the great things is you can actually drive there from the US or Canada. The people of Belize are really friendly people and willing to help. Belize beaches are not what you might expect because they are protected by the world’s second longest barrier reef and so no real surf is pounding the shore. Hotel prices are all over the map but even on Ambergris you can find some bargains. Vist Belize, it’s worth it.

garden cabanas is a great deal, tho not on the beach, but beautiful garden setting/budget for placencia.

Cindy: Thanks for putting together the Toucan Trail. I like buying local when I travel (it’s the point, after all!) to get the local flavor and to put my dollars into the pocket of a citizen instead of an international corporation.

Thanks for finding the Toucan Trail… I worked on developing all of the content with the Tourism Board. There are so many treasures out there in Belize- so, enjoy and thanks for mentioning the program!
