Finding good airfare deals
December 14th, 2006 Posted in General, Travel bargains, Vacation dealsI’m running around Mexico right now like a pollo with his cabeza cut off, but meanwhile, deals keep pouring into my e-mail box and my RSS reader. Sub-$300 flights to Europe, $44 hotel rooms, unadvertised $200 domestic fares, etc. Keep an eye out and you might find the right one for you. Here’s a good one to add to the list if you live in the U.S.

We are looking for airline tickets for a family of 5; 2adults and 3 children, To Aguascalientes, Mexico. We are on a very tight budget so we need to find a very good deal! the lowest I could find so far is $515 a person can you help? it will be greatly appreciated, Thank You

Try alternate airports and then take a bus from there. Guadalajara should be less, but also try San Luis Potosi or Zacatecas–you never know. When there are limited flights to a city, there’s not much up and down in the prices. I deal with this all the time for Merida and you see this in U.S. cities too where there’s not much competition. When airlines have the route to themselves, they charge monopoly prices.
Keep in mind too that you are paying close to $100 in taxes for each ticket, part of that from the U.S. side, more of it from the Mexico side. So you are never going to find the kind of rock bottom fares you sometimes can for a domestic or inter-Europe flight.
