Seacology Awarded in Travel & Leisure

I take potshots at the “everything’s lovely” travel mags quite often, but at times they bring attention to people and organizations doing good work. Kudos this month to Travel & Leisure, who profile several of them with their Global Vision awards. One of the winners was Seacology, a group “that is enriching the customs and traditions of local communities and increasing public awareness of them.” They work with islanders to make the most of their resources without squandering them for short-term gain.
Perceptive Travel has run two features that highlinght some of Seacology’s work in Indonesia and Vietnam, both written by Jeff Greenwald.
