Wanna Be a Tour Guide?
November 15th, 2006 Posted in General, International living/working, Long-term travelBeing a tour guide on overland tours is one of those jobs many a traveler daydreams about. Like most other dream jobs, the only catch is money–as in you don’t get much of it for your efforts.
But hey, you travel for free, and that’s enough for some people. Follow this link and you’ll see a job posting for guides to run trips in lots of exotic places. And this is not just for any tour company, it’s for G.A.P. Adventures–one of them that does it right. They’re advertising that it pays $1,000. My guess is that’s for the whole summer, but with your travel and meals taken care of, it beats slowly burning through all your savings. And you’d pick up some great diplomacy and project management skills.
